Critiques
The soft blue locks the whole image into a soft view with the water drop seeming completly safe within the petals grasp.
The focus is used well and the out of focus areas are well handled.
This image, for me, sums up perfectly what nature macro photography is about - showing the beauty of plant while creating a piece of art.
If I may offer a idea for your next image. It would be to include more flower but post a larger image so that the viewer could perhaps feel both the presence of the colour and the importance of the drop.
The reflection in the drop is crisp and natural, and is well lit on both sides.
If I could offer any suggestions (and this is a stretch), I might have gone one stop down on the aperture to get the pedal under the one with the drop in focus, but I realize how difficult and unforgiving macro shots are.
I'd also like to add that I enjoy how one's eye is pulled to the left to meet the smaller pedal. It makes for a very interesting shot.
This is excellent work. Very well done.
